Arizona Center for Advanced Medicine | Scottsdale, AZ
The Arizona Center for Advanced Medicine provides naturopathic solutions for neurological-based issues in both children and adults. Some of these issues include: attention deficit disorder/hyperactivity (ADD/ADHD), obsessive/compulsive disorder (OCD), autism, depression, bipolar disorders, cerebral palsy (CP), stress and emotional disorders.
FM provided the interior and architectural design services for the tenant improvement build-out of the practice’s new clinic. FM’s designs responded to the environmental sensitivities of many of the clinics patients. Non-conventional, "green" building materials and techniques were incorporated, including wheat board, ion-emitting flooring, "quarry carpet", recyclable carpet, no or low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) materials and HEPA filtration throughout the office. Plywood and building materials containing formaldehyde, a substance found in most flooring materials, were not used due to the noxious fumes these materials emit. As well, conventional florescent lighting was omitted to minimize the impact the strobe-effect these lights have on some patients, specifically those diagnosed with seizures.
